The core training includes the following specializations over 36 months (3 years): Emergency Medicine, Continuity Clinic, Cardiology, Hospitalist, OB/GYN, Pain Management, Pediatrics, Radiology, Research, Health System Management, Pediatrics Wards, General Surgery, Endocrinology, Orthopedics/Sports Medicine, Palliative Care, Pulmonary/ICU, Behavioral Health, Dermatology, Nephrology, Wound Care, Podiatry, Oncology, Geriatrics, and Electives (including, but not limited to Allergy/Immunology, Anesthesiology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Integrative Medicine, Ophthalmology, Urology, and residents may repeat any required rotation of their choice for more experience. OPP is taught in FMC and during residency didactics, but OMT is limited during electives). All electives require prior authorization from the Attending and the Program Director.
Rotation months reflect a longitudinal nursing home experience of 2 hours per month over the course of each PGY-level.

Core Didactics: Didactic lectures are held every Thursday afternoon from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Didactics cover the entire content of 鈥淭extbook of Family Medicine鈥 by Rakel & Rakel. There are presentations from faculty members, guest speakers, residents, and educational videos. Some of the activities include monthly resident-presented Journal Club, monthly Case Network cases, monthly OMM review sessions, chart reviews, board reviews, and joint lectures with KRMC Pharmacy Residency. Quarterly, an OMM workshop is held.
