аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Íø Our Curriculum

The program curriculum is designed so that fellows and residents will demonstrate competency in each of the following fundamental areas: Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Transplant Medicine, Motility, Nutrition, Hepatology, Oncology, Biliary Tract Disease, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Advanced Endoscopy, including Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders, and Endoscopic Ultrasound.

Rotations are structured in 1-month blocks, 12 blocks annually.

During PGY-5, fellows have a one-month elective, and PGY-6 fellows have two months of electives. The fellows can complete these electives at any site.

Continuity Clinic: Each fellow is assigned a dedicated half-day of outpatient continuity clinic, based at MVMC GI Clinic, same day each week consistently throughout the whole year, independent of rotation/block schedule or assignment except while on vacation (for example, Fellow A assigned Tuesday morning half day, and will have continuity clinic every Tuesday morning for the entire academic year, regardless of rotation/site)

Electives: Elective options include but are not limited to Pediatric GI at Valleywise Health, Hepatology at Banner University Medical Center, General GI at Abrazo Central Campus, and General GI at Tempe St. Luke's. All elective requests must be approved by the Program Director in conjunction with the Fellow faculty advisor.
