The College of Graduate Studies (CGS) is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The CGS Scholarship for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is a merit and needs based award for qualified underrepresented minority students who are pursuing a Master of Arts in Biomedical Sciences (MA) or Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) degree at 新澳门六合彩开奖网 (MWU) in Downers Grove, IL or Glendale, AZ. CGS believes that advocating for students from diverse backgrounds results in improvement, creativity, and innovation in biomedical research, patient treatment, and the delivery of healthcare.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must:
- Be an applicant to the MA or MBS program
- Matriculate into the MWU Biomedical Sciences program to receive the scholarship
- Meet for an underrepresented minority in health professions
- American Indian or Alaska Native
- Black or African American
- Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander
- Hispanic (all races)
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
The submission deadline for applications is July 15th.
The student application must include the following by the scholarship application deadline:
- Name
- A personal statement, no more than 5,000 characters including spaces, that addresses the following question, 鈥淗ow do you apply your experience as an underrepresented minority to serve, motivate, and inspire others?鈥
- A confidential letter of evaluation from someone who can evaluate the academic performance of an applicant who is applying for admission to the MA/MBS program.
Scholarship Amount/Payments
Recipients receive individual awards that are equivalent to one quarter of full tuition for the MWU MA or MBS program, and up to two quarters of full tuition for the MBS program. Scholarship payments are disbursed directly to the Registrar on behalf of the student.
- Awardees will qualify for MWU Fall Quarter tuition coverage.
- MBS awardees who maintain a minimum MWU cumulative GPA of 3.2 after the conclusion of Spring quarter will automatically qualify for MWU Fall quarter tuition coverage in year 2.
